If you plan on using this picture commercially, that's not a problem, but please use some due diligence. I've tried to make sure I have a valid copyright on something before releasing it to the Public Domain, but the standard for commercial use is much higher. Don't be a dumbass.

If you do use the photo, please consider giving credit and linking back to the site. This isn't required, but it's a very good way to support my efforts here. Just something like, "Photo courtesy PDPhoto.org". If it's something people can view or purchase online, feel free to leave a link.

Just to give credit due: I used this photo (and two others) for a tutorial I just submitted for my column in Linux Format magazine (a UK magazine) related to using GIMP, the photoshop clone for *nix systems.

In my gallery you can find lxf63-rose-1, which is this image unaltered (the before) and lxf63-rose-2 which is an example of producing a reflection of an object.

I don't have the other two images I used online yet - forgot to put them up last night with the others. But I'll post comments when/if I do put them online.

The gallery doesn't have comments attached to images yet (I may add this later) so I can't give credit directly in the gallery, but I did note pdphoto.net in my blog entry (http://www.ximba.org/wordpress/index.php?p=48). I also noted pdphoto.net's contribution in the article (assuming the publisher keeps that part in ).
The issue where this image is used is LXF63 which is due for publication (I think) in January or Feburary.

Many thanks for the great photos! My own collection was running dry of good material.

I have no idea as of yet when and if I am going to use a certain rose photo. But it is great to feel free to look at yours. When I do, I'll make sure I keep your website and recheck later. I plan to do some china paintings with the roses as my example...also teaching different shapes with the roses to my friends whom I also teach and paint with....thank you so much for the beautiful roses...even if I just want to look at them. They are so beautiful!

thanks for sharing these lovely pictures. i make online stationary for my incredimail program & these are just to lovely to resist:)i always put links in to the owner of the pictures i use.
